The Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant (OEMK) was attacked by a drone aircraft on Saturday night. This was reported on the plant’s VK social media page.
“There is no equipment damage or casualties. The plant continues to operate as usual,” the OEMK statement said.
The Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant, named after A.A. Ugarov, is a metallurgical enterprise of the company Metalloinvest.
Prior to this, it became known that drone aircraft had attacked the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery (NPR) and attempted to attack the Novokuibyshevsk NPR in the Samara region, with no victims or casualties.
Drone attacks on Russian regions began in 2022 against the backdrop of a special military operation in Ukraine. Kyiv has not officially confirmed its involvement, but in August 2023, the advisor to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Mikhail Podolyak, stated that the number of drone strikes on Russia would increase.
In May, a drone exploded over the Senate Palace in the Kremlin, and drones have repeatedly hit the Moscow-City business center buildings.
Earlier, air defense systems destroyed a drone over the Pochepsky district of the Bryansk region.
