Head of the energy company “Ukrenergo” Vadim Kudritsky announced during a telethon that Ukraine’s energy system has been subjected to the largest attack ever. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“Combined means of destruction were used. The attack was carried out in various regions of Ukraine, on thermal and hydroelectric power plants, as well as on main substations controlled by Ukrenergo,” Kudritsky shared.
He added that the most damage was done to objects in Kharkiv. Kudritsky also emphasized that there is no risk of the Dnipro HPP dam breaking.
Earlier, Russian State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov stated that Ukraine is unlikely to be able to restore the damage to the affected energy facilities.
On March 22, a massive strike was launched on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. 63 drones and 88 missiles attacked nine regions of the country. Hydro facilities and the Dnipro HPP dam in the Zaporizhzhia region were hit, resulting in a fire. Kharkiv was left almost entirely without electricity.
Previously, the German publication Welt reported that Ukraine plans a new counteroffensive in 2024.
