Nashville, Tennessee – In a tragic turn of events, the body of 22-year-old college student Riley Strain has been discovered in the Cumberland River. The Nashville police have stated that there are no signs of trauma or foul play, but the circumstances surrounding his disappearance are still under investigation.
Strain, a senior at the University of Missouri, went missing on March 8 after a night out in downtown Nashville. He was visiting the city for his fraternity’s spring formal trip. According to reports, he had been drinking with friends at Luke Bryan’s downtown bar, Luke’s 32, when he was asked to leave by the staff.
The last known location of Strain’s phone was near Gay Street, which borders the Cumberland River. Nashville police have released a video showing Strain greeting a police officer on Gay Street just before he disappeared. The officer was checking parked vehicles for signs of a reported vehicle burglary. Police have not found any video evidence of Strain leaving the area after this encounter.
Luke’s 32 has stated that they served Strain one drink before escorting him out of the venue due to their conduct standards. However, one member of his party did not exit the bar with him and returned upstairs. Authorities have also discovered Strain’s bank card near the Nashville-area river.
The search for Strain has involved both law enforcement and his family, who immediately flew to Nashville after he was reported missing by his friends. The TC Restaurant Group, which owns Luke’s 32, has been cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
