Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal has stated in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais that Kyiv has not asked European countries to send their troops to assist the Armed Forces of the Republic (AFU).
“We have not asked for troops. We have our own armed forces and defense forces. And we have enough troops,” Shmyhal said.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister noted that no European country is willing to send troops to participate in the conflict because “it would mean that they are entering into a war.”
Previously, a representative of the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, stated that the British authorities do not plan to send their military contingent to fight in Ukraine.
French President Emmanuel Macron has also assured that his country will “never launch an offensive” in Ukraine and will not take the initiative in military actions. At the same time, he emphasized once again that “nothing can be ruled out” when it comes to assisting Kyiv. According to Le Monde, the French president had already mentioned in February that he may have to “send the guys to Odessa.”
Earlier, a military expert assessed the data on possible NATO troop locations in Ukraine.
