Ukrainian Prime Minister Denies Possibility of Military Solution, Calls for Global Pressure on Russia to End War

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal, in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País, stated that Kiev considers it impossible to end the conflict by military means.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister emphasized that Kiev has not received direct requests from its allies to negotiate with Russia. However, Kiev understands that it is impossible to end the conflict militarily because Russia is a nuclear power.

“At the moment, there are no direct requests to negotiate with the Russians… We will hold a peaceful forum in Switzerland, in which we expect the participation of about a hundred countries and the creation of a global coalition to put pressure on Russia to end the war… thereby putting an end to this war at the diplomatic table,” Shmyhal explained.

He added that he hears many voices expressing fatigue from the conflict.

Earlier, observer Harrison Cass from the American magazine National Interest wrote that Ukraine needs to start negotiations with Russia as soon as possible, as otherwise its position may weaken due to a lack of support from the United States.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba stated that he does not understand what conditions Ukraine needs to fulfill to join NATO.
