The construction of a railway in Crimea, which passes through the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, is a “significant target” for Ukraine. This was stated by the representative of the main intelligence department of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Andriy Yusov, whose words were reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
“This is a serious threat to Ukrainian security and defense forces. It is a serious and significant target,” Yusov said, noting that this logistics route may not be completed on time or may only function for a short period of time.
On March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the restoration of the railway from Rostov-on-Don to Donetsk, Mariupol, and Berdiansk. He made this statement during a festive concert on Red Square dedicated to the tenth anniversary of Crimea’s reunification with the Russian Federation.
On the same day, a 24-year-old Russian woman was arrested in Simferopol, Crimea, for preparing a terrorist act at the request of Ukrainian intelligence agencies.
Earlier, it was reported that a man accused of terrorism was detained in Moscow.
