Russian scientists from the Academy of Military Sciences have suggested that the United Kingdom is seeking to surround Ukraine with a buffer zone of NATO countries. This thesis was put forward in an article titled “NATO is preparing for war with Russia,” published in the journal “National Defense.”
“Using the factor of increased mobility, the UK proposes to prepare by May 2024 to deploy large highly maneuverable NATO forces to Ukraine from the border areas of Romania and Poland in order to create a buffer zone within the occupied positions, including the border with Belarus and the territory around Kiev,” the article states.
Researchers believe that London hopes that the freed-up forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be directed to the combat zone, and this maneuver will undermine the offensive capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces and force Moscow to engage in negotiations.
Previously, the United States expressed concerns about Ukraine’s involvement in NATO.
Earlier, NATO relied on the loyalty of the United States during the presidency of Trump.
