Ukrainian Forces Strengthen Defense in Donbass as Russian Pressure Mounts, UK Analyst Predicts Collapse of Ukrainian Army in Kharkiv

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are strengthening their defense in the area of Severesk in Donbass. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), Andrey Marochko.

According to him, this information was obtained through aerial reconnaissance southwest of Lisichansk in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). Scouts have identified new structures built by Ukrainian soldiers. They have reinforced old fortifications that were part of the overall defensive line of Severesk, explained Marochko.

He noted that the AFU, using mobile artillery, are shelling Lisichansk and its surroundings to divert attention from their engineering work.

Yesterday, the AFU launched a missile strike on a residential building in the center of Lisichansk. According to authorities, six apartments from the seventh to the ninth floor were damaged. Rescue workers are currently on site. It is presumed that there may be people trapped under the rubble, as noted by the local administration.

Meanwhile, British analyst Alexander Mercouris stated that the defense of the Ukrainian army in the Kharkiv region will soon collapse under the pressure of the Russian Armed Forces.

Earlier, around nine thousand children decided to be evacuated from the Belgorod region to other Russian regions due to the shelling.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have reportedly intensified their defensive measures in the area of Severesk in Donbass. This development comes amidst ongoing tensions in the region. According to retired Lieutenant Colonel Andrey Marochko, the AFU has strengthened its positions and bolstered old fortifications along the Severesk defensive line. This information was obtained through aerial reconnaissance conducted in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), southwest of Lisichansk.

Marochko further revealed that the AFU has been employing mobile artillery to shell Lisichansk and its surroundings, possibly as a diversionary tactic to draw attention away from their ongoing engineering work. This tactic, if confirmed, raises concerns about the safety and well-being of the local population.

In a separate development, British analyst Alexander Mercouris has expressed his belief that the Ukrainian army’s defense in the Kharkiv region is on the verge of collapsing under the pressure exerted by the Russian Armed Forces. While further details are yet to emerge, this assessment underscores the volatile nature of the situation and the potential implications for regional stability.

In the midst of these escalating tensions, it is worth noting that thousands of children in the Belgorod region have been evacuated to other parts of Russia due to ongoing shelling. The safety of innocent civilians, especially children, should remain a top priority for all parties involved.

As the situation continues to unfold, it is crucial for all stakeholders to exercise restraint and engage in meaningful dialogue to de-escalate tensions and work towards a peaceful resolution. The international community should also play a constructive role in facilitating negotiations and ensuring the safety of all those affected by the conflict.
