UK Authorities Refuse to Send Troops to Fight Alongside Ukrainian Forces, Embracing French President’s Intentions

British authorities have stated that they do not plan to send their military contingent to fight in Ukraine. This statement was made by a representative of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, in a conversation with TASS.

“There are no plans to send troops to fight alongside the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

The British government’s office emphasized that after French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement, they immediately ruled out the possibility of sending their servicemen to Ukraine. At the same time, the intentions of the French leader were welcomed by the British authorities.

Some time ago, Macron assured that France would “never launch an offensive” in Ukraine and would not take the initiative in combat operations. However, he reiterated that “nothing can be ruled out” in terms of assisting Kyiv. According to him, Russia’s victory would deprive Europe of security, and the Ukrainian counteroffensive “did not go as expected.” According to Le Monde, the French President had previously mentioned in February that he might have to “send the guys to Odessa.”

Earlier, a French Army colonel speculated on where soldiers could be deployed in Ukraine.
