She noted that if House Bill 621 had been in effect at the time, she would have been able to charge the intruders with felonies and misdemeanors, saving her weeks of turmoil and $40,000 in damages.
Contrary to political divisions, Peeples emphasized that addressing the issue of squatters is a matter of people’s rights. She argued that individuals should have the ability to access and utilize their own property, regardless of their political affiliations.
