Russian Forces Repel Attacks by Ukrainian President’s Brigade, Inflict Heavy Losses on Enemy – 130 Soldiers and Equipment Destroyed

Units of the “Vostok” task force repelled two counterattacks by the first presidential brigade of Ukraine on the South-Donetsk direction. This was reported by the head of the task force’s press center, Alexander Gordeev, according to TASS.

“During active operations, units of the task force improved their position on the front line, repelled two counterattacks by the formations of the Ukrainian president’s first brigade in the area of Urozhainoye, and destroyed a reserve group of the 108th territorial defense brigade on pickups in the area of Mirnoye,” Gordeev said.

According to him, the Russian military also thwarted attempts by the Ukrainian side to reinforce their advanced positions in the areas of Staromayorsk and Rovnopolye. Bombing raids, artillery fire, and heavy flamethrower systems struck the strongholds and gathering places of the 58th motorized infantry brigade, as well as the 128th territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the areas of Shakhtersk and Staromayorsk.

As Gordeev clarified, on the South-Donetsk direction, the AFU lost more than 130 servicemen, a tank, two armored personnel carriers, four units of automotive equipment, eight unmanned aerial vehicles, and a radio-electronic reconnaissance station in a day.

On March 18, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian Su-34 fighters destroyed a command post of the AFU.

On March 16, Russian military forces improved their tactical position on the front line of the South-Donetsk direction.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense showed a battle with saboteurs in the Belgorod region.
