Russian air defense forces shot down a modified anti-aircraft missile S-200 and destroyed a Patriot missile of the air defense missile system over the Kursk and Belgorod regions on the evening of March 19. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported this.
According to the ministry, Ukraine’s attempt to carry out a terrorist attack on Russian territory using these missiles was thwarted at around 22:30 Moscow time.
Shortly before that, the Ministry of Defense reported that Russian air defense forces had destroyed 10 “Vampire” multiple rocket launchers and one “Tochka-U” missile launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine towards the Belgorod region.
On March 18, Russian National Guard neutralized unmanned aerial vehicles and quadcopters used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an attempt to attack a facility in the Belgorod region.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned the possibility of creating a “sanitary zone” in Ukraine, responding to journalists’ questions about the possible annexation of the Kharkiv region to Russia.
Earlier, a Ukrainian soldier expressed confusion about the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
