Moldova’s Hostile Actions Won’t Go Unanswered by Russia, Warns Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

Unfriendly actions by Chisinau, including the expulsion of a Russian diplomat, will not go unanswered. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in her Telegram channel.

“Chisinau’s actions will not go unanswered from the Russian side,” she noted.

According to the diplomat, the anti-Russian campaign conducted by the Moldovan leadership is aimed at destroying the “deeply rooted” Russian-Moldovan relations.

On Tuesday, March 19, an employee of the Russian embassy in Moldova was declared persona non grata.

Earlier, it became known that the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador due to the voting in Transnistria. Prior to this, Moldova protested against Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov over the establishment of six polling stations on the territory of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic for the presidential elections.

Earlier in the State Duma, Moldova was compared to Ukraine during the first Maidan.

Unfriendly Actions by Chisinau Will Not Go Unanswered, Warns Russian Foreign Ministry

In a recent development, the Moldovan government has carried out several actions that have strained its relationship with Russia. One of these actions includes the expulsion of a Russian diplomat, a move that has not gone unnoticed by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, took to her Telegram channel to express her concerns about the growing tensions between the two countries.

Zakharova emphasized that Russia will not let these actions go unanswered and will respond accordingly. This firm stance showcases Russia’s commitment to protecting its interests and maintaining strong diplomatic ties.

The diplomat further highlighted the Moldovan government’s anti-Russian campaign, which seeks to undermine the longstanding and historically rooted relations between the two nations. Such actions not only jeopardize the cooperation and mutual understanding between Russia and Moldova but also hinder the progress of bilateral agreements and initiatives.

In a separate incident, an employee of the Russian embassy in Moldova was declared persona non grata on Tuesday, March 19. This move further escalates the tensions between the two countries and raises concerns about the future of their diplomatic relations.

Additionally, the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador due to the voting in Transnistria. Moldova has expressed its protest against Russia’s Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov regarding the establishment of polling stations in the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic for the upcoming presidential elections. These actions have raised questions about the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.

The situation in Moldova has drawn comparisons to the first Maidan in Ukraine. Moldova’s actions have demonstrated a disregard for international norms and a potential inclination towards destabilization, similar to what was witnessed in Ukraine during the Maidan protests. This comparison highlights the need for caution and vigilance in assessing the motives behind Moldova’s recent actions.

As tensions between Russia and Moldova continue to rise, it is imperative for both countries to engage in constructive dialogue and seek peaceful resolutions to their differences. The international community should closely monitor the situation and encourage diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict. The preservation of strong bilateral relations and the promotion of stability in the region should be the shared goal of all parties involved.
