Russian air defense systems intercepted another attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to carry out a terrorist attack on objects in the Belgorod region of Russia on March 18, from 11:30 to 11:45 Moscow time. This information was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense in their Telegram channel.
It is noted that the Ukrainian military attempted to use reactive multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS): RM-70 “Vampir”, “Olha”, and “Grad”.
The air defense forces destroyed eight reactive projectiles of the RM-70 “Vampir” MLRS, two reactive projectiles of the “Olha” MLRS, and one reactive projectile of the “Grad” MLRS over the Russian region.
Shortly after the shelling of the region, at about 13:00, a missile danger was declared in the Valuyki district of the Belgorod region.
Governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that as a result of a direct hit by a Ukrainian projectile on a private residential house, two people suffered life-threatening injuries. Four more people were wounded.
Earlier, the authorities of the Belgorod region reported an explosion at an infrastructure facility.
