Russian Air Defense Forces (AD) destroyed a Ukrainian drone over Crimea on the evening of March 18. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the ministry, Ukraine’s attempt to carry out a terrorist attack on Russian territory using a jet unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was foiled at approximately 9:30 PM Moscow time.
On March 18, Russian National Guard troops neutralized unmanned aerial vehicles and quadcopters that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) were attempting to use to attack a facility in the Belgorod region.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested the possibility of creating a “sanitary zone” in Ukraine, responding to journalists’ questions about the possible annexation of the Kharkiv region to Russia.
Later, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov explained that this zone would represent a certain corridor through which the opponent would not be able to strike Russian territory.
Previously, the UAF had complained about a “trick” by the Russian army.
