The reserves of Ukraine’s air defense systems are dwindling so quickly that soon the country’s armed forces will only be able to intercept one out of every five missiles targeting its territory. This alarming development was reported by The Washington Post.
Currently, Ukraine’s air defense systems manage to shoot down four out of every five Russian missiles. However, in the near future, Ukraine will have to limit its air defense capabilities to intercepting only one out of every five missiles, according to the article.
Unnamed Ukrainian officials, in an interview with The Washington Post, stated that this will have a “significant impact on urban centers in Ukraine.”
Earlier, The Telegraph reported that Ukraine will run out of missiles for its air defense systems by the end of March.
On March 13, Peter Suciu, a contributor for National Interest, wrote an article stating that the Russian Armed Forces had dealt a serious blow to Ukraine’s air defense systems.
In early March, British expert Alexander Mercouris claimed that Russian military forces operating in the conflict zone had systematically destroyed Ukraine’s air defense systems.
Previously, the capabilities of Ukraine’s defense were assessed in the United States.
