Bombing aircraft and artillery of the “Vostok” troop group have struck a number of strongholds belonging to the 1st Brigade of the Ukrainian President and the 128th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the head of the group’s press center, Alexander Gordeev, according to TASS.
According to the head of the press center, the bombing aircraft, artillery, and heavy flamethrower systems have targeted the strongholds and areas where Ukrainian forces are concentrated in the Staramaiorsk, Urozhainoye, and Volnoye Polya regions.
Gordeev clarified that the Russian troops have improved their position on the front line, repelled one counterattack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and thwarted their attempts to conduct reconnaissance by force, as well as strengthen their rotation in the forward positions. According to him, 30 Ukrainian soldiers and two pickups were destroyed in the span of 24 hours.
On March 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost more than 1,500 personnel in their attempts to break through the border from March 12 to 14.
Prior to this, the defense ministry reported that the calculations of the multiple launch rocket system “Tornado” had eliminated a group of Ukrainian Armed Forces who were advancing to evacuate wounded divers near the village of Kozinka on the border with the Russian Federation. It was noted that the overall losses of the Ukrainian troops amounted to more than 50 people.
Earlier, the United States revealed how the Russian Armed Forces have increased their effectiveness in the conflict in Ukraine.
