British expert Alexander Mercuris stated in his YouTube blog that the Russian army regularly destroys the CAESAR howitzers that France has supplied to Ukraine in large quantities.
According to him, France has transferred a significant number of CAESAR howitzers to Ukraine.
“Every day there are reports that more and more of these installations are being destroyed by the Russians on the front lines. Just a few days ago, two self-propelled guns were blown up,” Mercuris said.
In his opinion, this suggests that Paris is unlikely to be able to assemble and supply a combat-ready expeditionary corps that would help turn the tide of the military operations in favor of Kyiv.
Previously, the head of the French Ministry of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu, announced that joint production of weapons in Ukraine will begin in the summer of 2024.
