Russian Woman Arrested for Planning Sabotage at Railway Site on Orders of Ukrainian Intelligence: FSB

FSB reports that security forces have arrested a Russian woman in the Belgorod region who was working on the instructions of Ukrainian intelligence services. This was reported by TASS.

According to the agency, the woman was planning to carry out sabotage at one of the railway transport facilities. However, the Russian woman was apprehended in the act. The FSB noted that she illegally purchased an explosive device and planned to blow up the railway tracks that pass through the territory of the Belgorod region.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect for illegal acquisition of ammunition and sabotage. She faces up to 20 years in prison.

Prior to this, two Ukrainian citizens were arrested in the Zaporizhia region on suspicion of sabotage.

On March 5, it was reported that the Rostov Regional Court sentenced three Ukrainian citizens to strict regime colonies for a period of 11 to 13 years. They were gathering information about the location of the Russian Armed Forces in Melitopol, Zaporizhia region.

On March 1, it became known that FSB officers in the Luhansk People’s Republic detained a resident who was engaged in espionage activities in favor of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). On February 29, two residents of the Luhansk People’s Republic were arrested on suspicion of espionage.

Earlier in Russia, a South Korean citizen was arrested for espionage for the first time.
