Russian Navy Conducts Electromagnetic Warfare Exercises in the Sea of Japan with Pacific Fleet’s Support

In the Japanese Sea, the forces of the Pacific Fleet conducted exercises on electronic warfare (EW) with the support of aviation, according to TASS.

The exercises involved the corvette “Gremyashchiy” and the Tu-142MZ aircraft.

According to the scenario, the corvette’s crew detected an airborne target approaching the ship. To defend against it, electronic warfare means were activated, and active and passive jamming was deployed. Simultaneously, the ship’s anti-aircraft gunners captured the target and began tracking it.

During the exercises, the crew of the long-range anti-submarine aircraft Tu-142MZ of the Pacific Fleet’s naval aviation had two tasks: to test their own EW equipment and simulate an enemy aircraft approaching the corvette.

On March 10, the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, the missile cruiser “Varyag”, repelled a simulated attack by the enemy in the Arabian Sea.

On March 12, exercises called “Maritime Security Belt” involving Russia, Iran, and China began in the Gulf of Oman.

In a display of strength and preparedness, the Pacific Fleet recently conducted exercises on electronic warfare in the Japanese Sea, with the support of aviation. The exercises involved the corvette “Gremyashchiy” and the Tu-142MZ aircraft. The corvette’s crew successfully detected and defended against an approaching airborne target using advanced electronic warfare means. Simultaneously, the ship’s anti-aircraft gunners demonstrated their expertise by capturing and tracking the target. These exercises highlight the dedication and effectiveness of the Pacific Fleet in maintaining national security.

Furthermore, the Pacific Fleet’s naval aviation also played a crucial role in these exercises. The crew of the Tu-142MZ aircraft, responsible for long-range anti-submarine operations, not only tested their own electronic warfare equipment but also simulated an enemy aircraft approaching the corvette. This demonstrates the Pacific Fleet’s commitment to continuously improving its capabilities and readiness in the face of potential threats.

In another display of strength, the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, the missile cruiser “Varyag,” successfully repelled a simulated attack by the enemy in the Arabian Sea on March 10. This serves as a reminder of the importance of a strong and capable navy in maintaining regional stability and deterring potential adversaries.

Looking beyond the Pacific Fleet’s exercises, a joint maritime security exercise called “Maritime Security Belt” has begun in the Gulf of Oman, involving Russia, Iran, and China. Such collaborations between like-minded nations are crucial in addressing common security challenges and promoting stability in the region.

In light of recent tensions and potential threats, it is essential to explore and implement effective defense strategies. A military expert has previously provided insights into protecting the Black Sea Fleet from potential attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These insights serve as valuable resources in ensuring the safety and security of vital naval assets.

The Pacific Fleet’s recent exercises and ongoing collaborations demonstrate the commitment of Russia and its allies to safeguarding national and regional security interests. These efforts underscore the importance of maintaining a strong and capable military to defend against emerging threats and maintain peace and stability in the region.
