Russian Forces Repel Ukrainian Sabotage Group, Inflicting Heavy Losses on the Enemy

Russian military units, together with the border guards of the FSB, repelled an attempt by a Ukrainian sabotage group to infiltrate the territory of the Belgorod region near the village of Kozinka. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported this in its Telegram channel.

It is reported that on March 14, at around 16:30, a Ukrainian sabotage group, which included foreign mercenaries, was covertly delivered by two Mi-8 helicopters to a distance of one kilometer from the Russian-Ukrainian border. The group consisted of about 30 people.

After landing, the group secretly moved towards the border village of Kozinka and occupied several houses on its outskirts.

“During an attempt to advance further into the settlement, the Ukrainian saboteurs were detected and stopped by units of the Russian Armed Forces, together with the border guards of the FSB of Russia,” the Ministry of Defense statement said.

Artillery fire was opened on the enemy, and airstrikes were conducted, including the use of guided aerial bombs. To prevent Ukrainian reserves from reaching the saboteurs, the area was remotely mined.

As a result, the remnants of the sabotage group encountered a minefield during their retreat and were eliminated. In addition, a group of enemy troops that was advancing to evacuate the wounded was destroyed by fire from the Tornado multiple launch rocket system. The total losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amounted to about 50 people.

On March 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the successful counteraction against Ukrainian sabotage groups for several days.

Earlier, a military expert revealed the objectives of the sabotage groups attempting to infiltrate Russian territory.
