In connection with the rapid development of technology in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during a special military operation in Ukraine, a new military-accounting specialty (MAS) for FPV drone operators will soon appear in the Russian army. This was announced by the CEO of the Center for Complex Unmanned Solutions (CCUS), Dmitry Kuziakin, according to TASS.
He explained that the development of new types of drones – ground, maritime, and aerial – requires an appropriate response.
“The existing military-accounting specialty ‘UAV Operator’ was introduced quite a long time ago and does not take into account the emerging trends, so it is impossible to train a specialist for new types of drones using it. Therefore, a new MAS is currently being created. Most likely, it will not be one, but a whole direction consisting of various specialties, including MAS for FPV drone operators,” Kuziakin said.
He added that the Russian army faces the task of dividing responsibilities – the operator of a reconnaissance drone and the operator of a kamikaze drone perform different tasks.
Earlier, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) announced the destruction of Marder and Bradley BMPs near Avdiivka.
Previously, Russia has developed a new drone suppression system.
