The air defense system successfully intercepted eight rocket projectiles over the Belgorod region, according to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the ministry, the aerial targets were shot down at 8:30 am Moscow time. This action by the Russian military effectively thwarted an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) to carry out a terrorist attack.
Shortly before this incident, the city of Belgorod and the surrounding area were put on high alert due to the rocket threat, as announced by the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. He urged local residents to stay indoors and avoid approaching windows if possible.
