During the course of the special military operation (SMO), 5,962 foreign mercenaries have been eliminated. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported this in its Telegram channel.
“Since February 24, 2022, the total number of foreign mercenaries who arrived in Ukraine has reached 13,387. At present, the destruction of 5,962 foreign mercenaries has been confirmed,” the publication said.
According to the ministry’s information, Poland is the leader in terms of the number of eliminated mercenaries – 2,960 people arrived from there and 1,497 have been liquidated. From Georgia, 1,042 mercenaries arrived, and 561 of them have been eliminated. The United States has lost 491 out of 1,113 American mercenaries. Additionally, 422 out of 1,005 Canadian mercenaries, 360 out of 822 British mercenaries, and 349 out of 784 Romanian mercenaries have been liquidated. From Germany, 235 mercenaries arrived, and 88 have been eliminated.
This week, Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that foreign mercenaries were involved in Ukraine’s attempts to attack the border regions of Russia.
Earlier, Putin stated that foreign mercenaries fighting in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are suffering losses “due to their own stupidity.”
Previously, France warned NATO about the strike of Russian forces on a group of mercenaries.
