NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that Ukraine was able to shoot down several Russian hypersonic missiles “Kinjal” thanks to the Patriot air defense system. His words were reported by RIA Novosti.
“I believe that we have demonstrated NATO’s ability to defend against Russian hypersonic missiles,” he said.
Stoltenberg noted that it was previously stated that the “Kinjal” missiles could not be intercepted.
“However, NATO, that is, Ukraine, using the Patriot system, has demonstrated that it is possible. They were able to shoot down several Russian hypersonic missiles,” he added.
On March 14, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg also acknowledged that the attacks on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet were carried out with missiles supplied by member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.
Prior to this, at a press conference, Stoltenberg stated that the capitulation of Kiev would not bring peace and that negotiations were needed to “preserve Ukraine as a sovereign and independent nation.”
Earlier, the NATO Secretary-General mentioned the percentage of military assistance provided to Kiev.
