NATO Provides 99% of Defense Support to Ukraine, but Kiev Demands More and Faster as Ammunition Runs Out

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has expressed his concern over Ukraine’s need for more and faster military support, despite already receiving 99% of all defense assistance from NATO member countries. Stoltenberg made this statement during his annual report on the security of the military-political bloc, as reported by TASS.

“NATO member countries have provided 99% of all military assistance to Ukraine,” the Secretary General reported.

However, Kiev is in need of even more support, as the country’s armed forces are running out of ammunition and new supplies are urgently required, he added.

“Every day of delay will have an impact on the battlefield,” Stoltenberg believes.

In September, the U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO, Julianne Smith, stated that the North Atlantic Alliance plans to increase the production of ammunition for Ukraine. Later, Stoltenberg announced that NATO had signed framework contracts for the supply of essential types of ammunition to Ukraine, worth €2.4 billion.

Previously, Western sources reported on the problems with ammunition in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
