Houthi Rebels Threaten Attacks on Israeli-Linked Ships in Indian Ocean: Yemeni Crisis Escalates” (94 characters)

Yemen’s rebel movement, Ansar Allah (Houthis), intends to attack Israeli-related vessels passing through the Indian Ocean towards Cape of Good Hope in southern Africa. This statement was made by the leader of the movement, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, in an address to his supporters, which was broadcasted by the Houthi-owned Al Masirah TV channel.

“We intend to obstruct the passage of vessels related to the Israeli enemy through the Indian Ocean towards Cape of Good Hope,” al-Houthi said.

He noted that the main goal of the movement is to expand the scale of operations and reach areas that Israel and its allies consider safe.

Against the backdrop of the conflict between Israel and the Hamas Palestinian movement in the Gaza Strip, Yemeni Houthis have been targeting commercial and military ships in the Red Sea since October 2023. Drones and rockets are being used for these purposes.

Prior to this, the White House responded to information about the Houthis possessing hypersonic weapons.

Earlier, the Houthis reported a successful test of a hypersonic missile.
