France can promptly send only one battalion, reinforced to a brigade, to Ukraine. This was stated by former US Armed Forces intelligence officer Scott Ritter in an interview with The Rock FOXX YouTube channel.
According to him, the suitable unit is stationed in Romania as part of the NATO mission “Eagle”. It has 13 main battle tanks Leclerc and four Rafale fighters.
Ritter noted that France will not be able to deploy more powerful forces to Ukrainian territory due to logistical problems. He reminded that it took Paris two years of peacetime to plan the deployment of 12,000 troops for the NATO “Orion” exercise.
Yesterday, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that his country will be able to confront Russia if necessary. However, he did not specify what exactly France intends to do.
Earlier in France, Macron was accused of assisting Ukraine at the expense of his own people.
