Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that the number of border troops in Ukraine will be increased. The corresponding statement was published by the Office of the President of Ukraine.
“We will increase the number of border troops taking into account current tasks,” the Ukrainian leader explained.
It is emphasized that the corresponding action plan has already been agreed upon, although it is not specified what it entails.
Earlier, Zelensky stated that three defense lines, each two thousand kilometers long, are being built in Ukraine.
However, on March 6, John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House National Security Council, stated that the defense lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are moving in the “wrong direction” amid the advancement of Russian troops.
According to him, Russia continues to move westward from the territory of Donbas, so it is time to provide the Ukrainian army with the necessary means for defense.
Previously, Zelensky revealed what hinders Ukraine from shifting the fighting to Russian territory.
