Pentagon Ready to Supply Ukraine with Longer-Range ATACMS Ballistic Missiles, Ignoring National Security Concerns – WSJ

The US Department of Defense is ready to supply Ukraine with tactical ballistic missiles ATACMS of greater range than those currently being provided to Kyiv. This information was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing American officials.

It is noted that Ukraine has repeatedly asked the United States to supply ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 290 km for strikes on the Crimean Peninsula. However, the administration of US President Joe Biden has refused Kyiv, stating that the US armed forces themselves need such missiles.

According to WSJ, now the Pentagon is ready to provide long-range ATACMS missiles, as the US can now use new high-precision PrSM missiles. However, it is unknown whether Biden himself will approve the deliveries.

Yesterday, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated that there have been no announcements from the country’s leadership regarding possible supplies of ATACMS ballistic missiles to Ukraine.

Earlier, the CIA revealed the dangers to Ukraine of not receiving assistance from the United States.
