SMS notification for local residents in case of emergency situations, specifically in the event of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks, will be implemented in the Kursk region. The regional government announced this in their Telegram channel.
“The sound alert system for the population will be activated during the day, from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm,” the statement said.
It is noted that this decision was made taking into account the current situation in this region bordering Ukraine.
According to the regional government, SMS and push notifications will be sent around the clock, and television signals will also be intercepted. Local residents are advised to remain calm and vigilant, and to not approach or touch any UAV debris, as they may be explosive. Instead, they should call 112 and provide the location of the UAV.
“No additional restrictions will be imposed in the region,” the message concludes.
The first mention of the planned implementation of SMS notifications for residents in border areas during emergency situations in the region was recorded in December 2022.
