Biden Struggles as Trump Surges: New Poll Reveals Trump’s Slim Lead in 2024 GOP Nomination Race

Former President Donald Trump holds a slight lead over President Biden in the race for the 2024 GOP nomination, according to a recent poll conducted by USA Today and Suffolk University. After both candidates secured their parties’ nominations, the poll found that 40% of respondents favored Trump, compared to 38% for Biden.

One significant finding of the survey was the number of registered voters who are open to changing their minds. Approximately 25% of those surveyed said they would consider switching their vote between now and the election – 14% of likely Biden voters and 15% of likely Trump voters. Interestingly, 15% of respondents reported disliking both candidates, with 25% leaning toward Trump, 18% toward Biden, and 44% intending to vote for third-party candidates.

With Trump and Biden securing their respective nominations, it appears that the public is bracing for a rematch of the closely contested 2020 election. Both candidates have faced significant criticism and have struggled with lukewarm approval ratings throughout their presidencies. However, it remains uncertain if Biden will accept Trump’s challenge for a public debate, as the administration has thus far avoided addressing the issue.

The USA Today/Suffolk University poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters and utilized cellphone and landline contacts. It was conducted from March 8 to 11 and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.

As the 2024 campaign trail heats up, it will be crucial to keep a close eye on the latest updates, exclusive interviews, and other political content for a comprehensive understanding of the upcoming election.
