Sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempted to break through into the Belgorod and Kursk regions of Russia. This was reported by the Telegram channel Wargonzo, citing sources in the regional security forces.
It is noted that several armed groups tried to break through into the Belgorod region on pickups with the support of mortar and artillery fire. Also, according to the channel’s information, several Ukrainian tanks were detected approaching the border, which opened fire during the assault attempt.
In addition to the attempted storming actions in the Belgorod border area, Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempted to penetrate the territory of the Kursk region. There, gunfire broke out in the Tetkino area.
“The enemy approached our positions from three directions, was spotted, destroyed, and pushed back,” the report says.
It is noted that the servicemen of the Western Military District and border guards are awaiting further attempts by Ukrainian saboteurs to approach the Russian borders.
It is also known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been attempting to launch drone attacks on Russian regions since last night. According to the information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 25 UAVs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the territories of the Moscow, Leningrad, Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Tula, and Oryol regions on the night of March 12.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported the concentration of Ukrainian troops on the border of the two countries.
