Six people have been detained in Poland for impersonating American soldiers and will face charges of fraud. This news was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Polish Central Police Bureau for Combating Cybercrime.
“The police have detained six individuals in the Mazovian Voivodeship responsible for committing fraud. Computer equipment, including mobile phones used to commit crimes, 25,000 zlotys [$6,400], as well as drugs – marijuana and hashish, were also seized,” the Polish police said.
During the investigation, the police found that the detainees were pretending to be American servicemen suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. The criminals engaged their victims in a psychological game in order to obtain money.
According to the Polish police, dozens of people have been deceived by these scammers.
Previously, the fraudsters deceived actress Tamara Abrosimova out of half a million rubles.
Earlier, blogger Anastasia Ivleeva once again sought to sue a St. Petersburg individual entrepreneur for one million rubles.
