The Ukrainian Army has confirmed the issuance of conscription notices to men with disabilities. The operational command of the Ukrainian troops “Sever” published a message about this in its Telegram channel.
In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it has been noticed that there are often complaints on social networks against the employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCRC, equivalent to draft boards) for issuing conscription notices to people with disabilities. The “Sever” command explained that this primarily means summoning men to the TCRC in order to clarify their data and update personal information.
“If a man has become disabled after being assigned to a draft office or is not registered with the TCRC at all, they cannot know about his disability,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces explained.
On March 7, it was reported that two courts – the first instance and the appellate – in the Ukrainian-controlled city of Zaporizhia acquitted a man who had fought with draft board employees who were trying to deliver a conscription notice to him.
Earlier in Ukraine, changes to the conscription law were announced regarding the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
