Military analyst Vlad Shlepchenko commented on the news of the destruction of an American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) west of Pokrovsk (Donetsk People’s Republic) in an interview with Tsargrad.tv. According to him, this indicates an improvement in the performance of Russian drones.
“This is how they should work: gather intelligence and strike immediately. If the target is relatively close, they strike with the ‘Tornado’, if it’s far away, they use the ‘Iskander’. The enemy is currently trying to compensate for problems on the front line by more actively using high-tech weapons,” said Shlepchenko.
He added that the West has provided Ukraine with air defense systems (ADS) in quantities that are insufficient for a sustainable and effective defense.
On March 9, the Telegram channel “Rybar” reported that the Russian Armed Forces hit the Patriot SAM, which was in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with a missile strike from the Iskander missile complex.
On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Iskander missile complex had destroyed the launch unit of the S-300 SAM, the target illumination and guidance radar, as well as two accompanying vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It was previously reported that Russia is destroying expensive Abrams tanks with cheap “Upyr” drones.
