The South Group of Forces’ air defense systems shot down 49 unmanned aerial vehicles, 3 HIMARS reactive shells, and a guided aviation bomb Hammer, according to TASS.
Sergei Rumyantsev, a senior officer at the group’s press center, reported that the drones were shot down in the areas of Yasinovataya, Novoandreevka, and Yakovlevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. He added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) lost over 300 servicemen. The Ukrainian troops also lost seven vehicles and a Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system.
Previously, it was reported that UAF drones and artillery attacked coal trucks in the Kharkiv region.
According to Vitaly Ganchev, the head of the pro-Russian military-civil administration in the region, the first strikes on the vehicles were carried out by FPV drones, after which the Ukrainian military opened targeted fire from the Grad rocket system. The injured driver was hospitalized.
Earlier, in the Kursk region, air defense systems successfully shot down a UAF drone.
