Ukrainian analysts have suggested the possibility that the destruction of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system in the Donetsk People’s Republic was not without the involvement of traitors. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication “Strana.ua”.
“The experts also do not rule out the factor of betrayal. That is, according to this version, someone from the Ukrainian military informed the Russians about the movement route of the Patriot,” the article says.
Analysts noted that the Patriot systems came under attack from Russian forces because they were moved close to the front line in order to shoot down Russian aircraft.
On March 9, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a launcher of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, as well as a target illumination and missile guidance radar and two accompanying vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, were destroyed by a strike from the Iskander missile system.
Later, a source from RIA Novosti revealed that an analysis of objective control videos concluded that two out of the three destroyed vehicles were American Patriot missile systems. This conclusion was made by the Telegram channel “Rybar”. Following this, TASS, citing security forces, reported the destruction of three Patriot systems.
