The Russian Armed Forces have reportedly targeted and destroyed an American Patriot air defense missile system, which was in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This information was shared by the Telegram channel “Rybar.”
According to the message, “New frames from objective control of the strike on the Ukrainian air defense missile system column to the west of Pokrovsk unequivocally confirm that the Russian Armed Forces targeted machines from the MIM-104 Patriot SAM system.”
Earlier on March 9th, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a launch pad of the S-300 air defense system, a target illumination and missile guidance radar, as well as two Ukrainian Armed Forces escort vehicles, were destroyed by strikes from the Iskander missile system.
Later, an anonymous source from RIA Novosti reported that an analysis of the objective control video concluded that two out of the three destroyed vehicles were indeed Patriot air defense systems, contrary to the earlier claims made by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which stated that they were S-300 systems.
Previously, it was reported that Russia was destroying expensive Abrams tanks with cheap “Upyr” drones.
