The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (AFRF) have destroyed another American Abrams tank in the area near the village of Berdychiv, Avdiivka. This was reported by Igor Kimakovskiy, an advisor to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), as cited by TASS.
“I have received confirmation of another destroyed American Abrams,” he said, noting that the tank was hit by an anti-tank grenade launcher. The tank’s crew was also killed in the attack.
On March 8, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced during its briefing that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost seven tanks, including two Abrams, in the Avdiivka direction over the past week.
On the same day, Scott Ritter, a retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer and military analyst, stated that Ukrainian military personnel are not sufficiently trained to properly operate American Abrams tanks, hence the improper use of these combat vehicles by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Previously, Ritter commented on the destruction of American Abrams tanks by Russian forces, stating that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are in a state of collapse and that Western tanks will not help them.
It has been previously reported that Russia is using inexpensive drones called “Upyr” to destroy expensive Abrams tanks.
