Russian Air Defense Forces have intercepted a Ukrainian attack on Russian territory using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of airplane type, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The incident occurred at around 22:00 Moscow time when the Ukrainian regime attempted a terrorist attack using the UAV on objects located within Russian territory, the statement said.
The Defense Ministry clarified that the air defense systems successfully shot down the Ukrainian drone over the Belgorod region.
Earlier reports indicated that Russian air defense systems had also prevented another attempted attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using two unmanned aircraft of the same airplane type. These drones were also shot down over the Belgorod region.
On the previous day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that on March 8, at approximately 18:30 Moscow time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to attack Russian targets with two UAVs in the Belgorod region. No casualties or damages were reported as a result of the attempted drone attack.
Previously, Gladkov reported that air defense forces had destroyed an airplane-type UAV in the Krasnoyaruksky district.
