Russia Appoints Admiral Alexander Moiseev as Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Raising Concerns

Admiral Alexander Moiseev, Commander of the Northern Fleet, has been appointed as the temporary acting Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy. This information was confirmed in a conversation with Ura.ru by retired Admiral Vladimir Komoedov, former Commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.

He noted that the information about Moiseev’s appointment to this position is reliable.

“I am aware of this. I think they will announce it later,” Komoedov continued.

He also said that he received this information from twenty sources.

Prior to this, the change of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy was reported by “Fontanka”. According to the publication, Moiseev will soon assume the position of the Navy’s Commander-in-Chief on a permanent basis. He will replace Nikolay Yevmenov in this position.

Moiseev was born on April 16, 1962, in the Kaliningrad region. He served for several years on nuclear submarines of the Northern Fleet. Since May 3, 2019, he has been in charge of the Northern Fleet.
