The city of Polohy in the Zaporizhzhya region has been left without electricity following an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), according to a statement from the regional governor, Yevhen Balitsky, on his Telegram channel.
“A substation caught fire, cutting off the power supply. At the moment, emergency services are working to extinguish the fire, after which specialists from the Tavria-Energo company will begin restoration work,” the official said.
The situation is said to be under control, with all administrative forces deployed to restore critical infrastructure.
This incident follows reports of a shift in the front line in the Zaporizhzhya region, with the line now reportedly one kilometer west of the village of Verbivka, towards Rabotyne.
It is emphasized that the village itself is under the control of the Russian army, and attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack there are being repelled. According to Dmitry Rogov, fighting for Rabotyne is ongoing, despite the efforts of Ukrainian forces to hold the settlement.
