Hezbollah Fires 30 Missiles at Israeli Army Bases, Escalating Tensions in the Middle East

Shiite group “Hezbollah” has announced the shelling of Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) barracks on the Golan Heights with 30 shells. The corresponding publication was posted on Hezbollah’s Telegram channel, according to TASS.

It is noted that the shelling was carried out in response to the shelling of southern Lebanon by the IDF.

Prior to this, Hezbollah opened anti-aircraft fire on Israeli aircraft over the Bekaa Valley.

The situation in the Middle East escalated after thousands of Hamas militants infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip on October 7. Over two hundred hostages were taken.

On that day, the Hamas movement launched thousands of rockets at Israeli territory and announced the start of Operation “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was at war.

The Lebanese Shiite organization Hezbollah expressed support for Hamas. Rocket attacks on Israel and Lebanon began from both sides. On the day of October 19, the Israeli army announced that the country’s border areas had been shelled from Lebanese territory. According to the IDF, several anti-tank missiles were fired towards the kibbutz of Manara.

The Lebanese Shiite organization Hezbollah is believed to be able to suppress Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system in the event of a conflict in the Middle East, Bloomberg agency reports, citing experts.

Earlier, Hezbollah claimed a major shelling of an Israeli air observation base.
