In Ukraine, following the dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, the Chief of the General Staff, Serhiy Shaptala, has also been retired. This was reported by “Strana.ua”.
According to the publication, Shaptala, like former Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhnyy, was deemed unfit for service after undergoing a military medical examination.
On March 9, it became known that Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, after being dismissed from his position as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was found unfit for military service. Ukrainian publication “Zerkalo Nedeli” reported, citing sources, that Zaluzhnyy had submitted a report on his discharge from the army in February of this year, presumably because he realized that he would not be given any further command.
On March 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on Zaluzhnyy’s resignation and the replacement of generals. He called it a “normal situation” and stated that he believes in the best.
Earlier, a former Ukrainian deputy spoke about the conflict in the leadership of Ukraine.
