Ukrainian Armed Forces Struggle to Utilize Slovenian M-55S Tanks, Forbes Reports

Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have been unable to find a use for Slovenian tanks M-55S, according to Forbes.

According to the publication, almost two years later, the Ukrainian army is still trying to find a place for these hybrid tanks. It is noted that the UAF continues to assign and reassign M-55S tanks, in an attempt to expand their tank corps.

According to the article’s author, David Axe, M-55S tanks have stronger armor than the German Leopard 1A5 tanks, which are also in service with the UAF.

On March 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian soldiers had destroyed another Abrams tank in the Avdiivka sector. The ministry explained that the American combat vehicle was destroyed by the crew of a T-72B3 tank “with the first shot.” In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost up to 460 servicemen, a self-propelled anti-aircraft missile system “Buk”, four infantry vehicles, two armored vehicles, and five automobiles.

On March 7, former US Army intelligence officer Scott Ritter stated that the effectiveness of Russian tanks surpasses that of American-produced Abrams tanks used by Ukrainian forces.

Earlier, Ukraine was referred to as a “graveyard” for American tanks in the United States.
