Russian Diplomat Mocks NATO’s Changing Rhetoric on Ukraine, Calls it Inconsistent and Senseless

Russia Requests UN Security Council Meeting on Ukraine

In a recent development, the Russian mission has requested a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine, which is scheduled to take place on March 22nd. Dmitry Polyanskiy, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, made this announcement, as reported by TASS.

Polyanskiy criticized the changing rhetoric of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), whose representatives previously argued that Ukraine should join the alliance in order to protect itself from Russia. However, the rhetoric has now shifted, with NATO claiming that Ukraine should not lose, as Russia would allegedly attack NATO countries afterwards.

Polyanskiy pointed out that these statements lack both common sense and consistency.

“Nevertheless, it is evident in how you portray Russia as an enemy and aggressor, omitting the fact that your aggression against Russia, involving Ukraine, began at least 10 years ago. We will discuss all these unpleasant moments for our Western colleagues in detail during the separate Security Council meeting we have requested for March 22nd,” Polyanskiy stated.

Previously, Polyanskiy stated that Russia has no intention of removing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as the Russian army has more pressing priorities.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergey Naryshkin, claimed that the West wants to replace Zelensky with a new “Piłsudski.”
