Russian Forces Repel Multiple Attacks by Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdiivka
In a recent development in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Russian army successfully repelled eight attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdiivka direction. According to Alexander Savchuk, the spokesperson for the Russian army’s “Center” group, these attacks resulted in the loss of approximately 400 Ukrainian soldiers. Savchuk’s statements were reported by RIA Novosti.
Over the past day, the 23rd and 47th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted counterattacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka, and Berdychiv. Additionally, the 78th Airborne Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched attacks in the areas of Orlovske and Tonezhne, while the 59th Motorized Infantry and 24th Mechanized Brigades attempted a counterattack in the areas of Vodyane, Pervomaiske, and Dzerzhinske. All of these attacks were successfully repelled by the Russian forces.
Savchuk emphasized that the “Center” group of troops continues to carry out its combat missions in the zone of the special military operation.
Prior to this, British expert Alexander Mercouris stated that the Ukrainian army was unable to organize a coordinated retreat near Avdiivka due to the absence of a defensive line.
On March 8th, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian forces had repelled 65 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdiivka direction over the course of a week.
