Messages from several foreign embassies about the risk of terrorist attacks in Moscow in the next 24 hours may be a “hoax” or a fake. This was stated by Colonel (reserve) of the FSB and President of the Alpha Group Officers Union, Alexey Filatov, to the newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomolets”.
The officer explained that terrorists usually choose festive or other celebratory events and days when they take place for their attacks. According to Filatov, this allows terrorists to amplify the effect of terror.
“But we have elections in a week: the next weekend is much more ‘interesting’ for terrorists – whoever they may be. In general, we want to believe that this is a fake,” Filatov said.
Previously, it became known that South Korea, the Czech Republic, Canada, and Sweden are warning of the risk of terrorist attacks in Russia.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia called on its citizens to refrain from traveling to Russia.
