The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has announced in its Telegram channel that air defense systems (ADS) destroyed 11 drones over the Volgograd region and one over the Belgorod region last night.
“The Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed by duty ADS over the territory of the Belgorod region, and eleven UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Volgograd region,” the ministry said in its statement.
On March 7, a Ukrainian drone was shot down in the Belgorod region. It was reported on that day that two UAVs from the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to reach the Leningrad region due to their low flight altitude. They could not be shot down due to the dense forest they were flying over. Later, they were destroyed by Russian fighter jets.
On Thursday, ADS forces also shot down a Ukrainian drone in the Bryansk region.
Earlier, Russia developed a new drone suppression system.
